The selling site - main blocks

Title and subtitle

The development of a selling site begins with the creation of a header and subheader. The title is one of the most important elements of any selling site. It should attract the visitor’s attention and interest him so much that he continues to read further. Here are some tips for creating an effective headline:

Subheading that reinforces the heading

The subtitle complements the title, providing additional information and enhancing its impact. It should be concise but informative and perform the following functions:

For example, if the headline says “Experience next level comfort with our line of furniture!”, then the subheading could be: “Modern design, high quality and affordable prices.”</ span>

By creating an engaging headline and reinforcing subheading, you provide the first step to capturing the attention of visitors and converting them into customers.

  • “Free shipping and assembly nationwide.”
  • “Environmentally clean materials without harmful impurities.”

Social Proof

Customer reviews help build trust in your brand. They can be text, video or in the form of a rating.
Example:
  • “The furniture is very comfortable and stylish! The delivery was fast. I recommend it to everyone!” – Maria, Kyiv.

Case studies and real-life examples of product use help show it in action and demonstrate real results. Example:
  • Case: “Thanks to our new line of furniture, restaurant XYZ increased the number of visitors by 20%.”

  • Visibility: The CTA should be highly visible, stand out from the background and be in a place where users can easily notice it.
Example: Location in the main block, after the product description.
  • Repetition: Place the CTA several times on the page, especially on long landing pages.
    Example:
At the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the page.
  • Constructive context: CTA should be a logical continuation of the content.
Example: After a positive customer review, place a Buy Now CTA.

Tips for increasing conversions

A/B Testing

Development of a selling site may involve testing various elements of the web resource. A/B testing (split testing) is a method of comparing two versions of a web page or element to determine which one performs better. During testing, the audience is divided into two groups: one sees version A, and the other sees version B. As a result, the performance indicators of both options are analyzed.
Examples of A/B Tests
  • Headers: Testing two different headlines to determine which is more eye-catching.
    Example:
    • Version A: “Buy furniture with a 20% discount!”
    • Version B: “20% discount on the entire new furniture collection!”
  • Calls to action (CTA): Testing different text and placement of CTA buttons.
    Example:
    • Version A: Buy Now button in the center of the page.
    • Version B: “Add to cart” button in the right corner of the page.
  • Visual elements: Testing different images or videos.
    Example:
    • Version A: Image of the product on a white background
    • Version B: Image of the product in the interior.

Personalization

Development of a selling site may involve testing various elements of the web resource. A/B testing (split testing) is a method of comparing two versions of a web page or element to determine which one performs better. During testing, the audience is divided into two groups: one sees version A, and the other sees version B. As a result, the performance indicators of both options are analyzed.
Examples of A/B Tests
  • Show recommendations based on previous purchases: “You may also like…”

Personalized Offers

Personalized offers are based on the individual needs and preferences of users, which increases the likelihood of conversion.
Examples
  • Send emails with personalized discounts on products that users view frequently.

Chatbots and Online Consultants

Chatbots can provide quick answers to user questions, help with product selection, and provide real-time support.
Advantages
  • 24/7 availability.
  • Instant answers.
  • The possibility of processing a large number of requests at the same time.

Mobile optimization

The selling site must be adapted for viewing content on smartphones and tablets. A mobile-optimized site provides a better user experience and increases conversions.
Value:
  • Improving user experience.
  • Increasing download speed.
  • Best positions in mobile search.
Tips for Creating a Mobile Version of the Website
  1. Responsive design The site should automatically adapt to screen sizes. Development of a selling website involves adaptive layout so that the content remains easy to read on any device.
  2. Image optimization Images should be compressed for fast loading. Use modern formats such as WebP
  3. Easy to navigate Menus and buttons should be accessible and understandable. An example is large CTA buttons that are easy to click on touchscreens.
  4. Reducing the number of pop-ups. Excessive pop-ups can be annoying for mobile device users. Use unobtrusive banners instead of pop-ups.
These features will help you improve your website’s conversion rate, make it more attractive to users, and increase the effectiveness of your marketing efforts.
Developing a selling website – is a complex and multifaceted process that requires careful planning and optimization of each element. An important component of success is the right structure, including clear headings, sub-headings, an attention-grabbing main block, detailed descriptions of products or services, social proof and effective calls to action (CTAs).

Equally important are tricks for increasing conversions, such as A/B testing, personalization, the use of chatbots and online consultants, as well as mobile optimization. Each of these elements helps improve the user experience, increase brand trust, and encourage meaningful action from users. Remember that regularly analyzing and improving your website is the key to online business success. Use data to make decisions, test different approaches, and stay on top of new trends and technologies to ensure your site remains effective and competitive.

Ultimately, a selling website is not just about technology and design, but also about understanding the needs and expectations of your audience. By investing time and resources into developing and optimizing your website, you can achieve high conversion rates and ensure the long-term success of your business.
